Department for Internal Medicine

The main focus of the Department for Internal Medicine lies in the fields of:

 

 

Intensive Care Unit

 

Here, internal medicine patients are intensively monitored, treated and nursed.

 

Cardiology and angiology (treatment of cardiovascular disorders)

The Department for Internal Medicine also includes a state-of-the-art cardiac catheter laboratory. Procedures include both diagnostic and interventional treatment, namely angioplasty with and without stent, pacemaker implants.

 

 

Gastroenterology, hepatology, endocrinology and diabetology

 

The diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the stomach and intestines (state-of-the-art endoscopy, ultrasonic and radiological equipment), liver disorders, glandular and hormonal treatments, with the focus on diabetes including intensive diabetic patient training.

 

 

Pneumology and sleep lab

 

The focus of pneumology lies in the treatment of illnesses of the respiratory organs. We offer Carinthian’s first interdisciplinary accredited sleep lab with expert diagnosis and therapy (training for all possible home respiratory systems).

 

 

Nephrology

 

Determination and treatment of acute and chronic kidney disorders. The dialysis ward is equipped with the latest technology combined with a pleasant home atmosphere, providing 16 dialysis stations for renal replacement therapy and operating in several shifts.

 

 

Oncology

 

The Department for Internal Medicine also places its focus on oncology. The significance of and progression in the field of oncology are constantly growing. Specially trained personnel (doctors and medical attendants) offer state of the art treatment, alongside intensive collaboration with national and international hospitals and specialists. State of the art oncological therapies are embedded in compassionate, psychological, pain-focused and socially supportive forms of therapy.

 

 

Rheumatology

 

Rheumatology patients are treated in cooperation with the Orthopedic Department.
