Admission

Inpatient admission is at the relevant ward or relevant outpatient department. If you have not been referred by your general practitioner, we kindly request you to go to the relevant outpatient department or to the information desk in the entrance hall.

Doctor’s orders

Please comply with the instructions given to you by the doctors and nurses. Medicine brought with you cannot be taken without consent of your treating doctor.

Medication

It is highly probable that one or more forms of medication will be administered. In many cases, it is necessary for you to continue taking these when at home. We will inform your general practitioner of the names of your medication in a letter of discharge to your doctor. For most medication available in Austria and in Europe, there are a number of companies who manufacture the same products with the same ingredients. Therefore there is no reason to object to your general practitioner substituting medication with a name that is not the same as the one we prescribe, but which contains the same ingredient at the same dosage. 

Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can impair the effect of many forms of medication. Therefore, kindly avoid these while taking medication.
