Quality assurance has been one of our major concerns at Villach Regional Hospital for many years. In February 2003, Villach Regional Hospital was the first acute sector hospital in Austria to be accredited in accordance with the international quality standards of the Joint Commission International. The quality standards of the Joint Commission International have been specifically drawn up with the healthcare sector in mind: some 20,000 hospitals and medical institutes are currently certified to meet these standards.

Villach Regional Hospital, its external Orthopaedic Clinic and the Institute for Clinical and Chemical Laboratory Diagnostics are now all accredited by the JCI.
